    Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper presents a static and dynamic study of the spatial structure of Manufacture and Services employment of the Barcelona Metropolitan Region (BMR) from 1986 to 2001. The aims are to verify, firstly, the existence of differences on location patterns among these sectors, and, secondly, the different impact produced by employment decentralisation. The obtained results statically confirm the existence of a polycentric model in both sectors. However, while dynamically the Services polycentrism is strengthening, the Manufacture one is worsening.
