    Abstract

ABSTRACT With the expression urban spread the author refers, not only to the physical expansion of the city, but also to the dissemination of its socioeconomic and cultural patterns. This dissemination is nowadays broadly widened since the transport and communication facilities favor intense flows of people, ideas and goods among cities and rural areas, even in some cases when these are remote. Variations in employment, housing and services are studied in this article as indicators of the social change, brought about by urban spread, which has been undergone in different municipalities of the Granada county.
