Abstract

RESUMEN Sobre la base del modelo de Funke y Strulik (2005) [Growth and convergence in a two-region model: The hypothetical case of Korean unification, Journal of Asian Economics, vol. ABSTRACT On the basis of the model by Funke and Strulik (2005) [Growth and convergence in a two-region model: The hypothetical case of Korean unification, Journal of Asian Economics, vol. 16(2), 255-279], this paper discusses a number of issues concerning effectiveness of regional policy. Particularly, the efficiency cost on private capital accumulation of regional redistribution at national level is considered. Moreover, the paper makes an explicit treatment on the way through which regional labor mobility, the presence of a perfect capital market or the access to technology, affect the effectiveness of regional policy.
