Disparidades económicas intrarregionales a escala municipal: Evidencia empírica para el caso gallego

Abstract

RESUMEN El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar las dinámicas demográfica y de la actividad económica en Galicia a escala municipal, así como los procesos circulares de acentuación de las disparidades económicas intrarregionales. A efectos de caracterización de la realidad socioeconómica gallega desde una perspectiva microgeográfica, se aplican diversas técnicas multivariantes y métodos de regionalización. La evidencia empírica obtenida sugiere, por un lado, la configuración de un incipiente sistema de ciudades en red y, por otro, la aparición de zonas intersticiales integradas por municipios en claro declive. Asimismo, los resultados permiten constatar la existencia de una relación directa entre la renta media declarada y la condición de centralidad municipal. ABSTRACT The objective of the present paper is to analyze, on municipal scale, the demographic and economic dynamics in Galicia, as well as the circular processes of accentuation of intraregional socioeconomic disparities. With the aim of characterize the Galician socioeconomic reality from a microgeographic perspective, multivariate techniques and regionalization methods are applied. The empirical evidence suggests, on the one hand, the configuration of a system of cities in network and, on the other hand, the appearance of interstitial zones integrated by municipalities in clear decline. Also, the results state the existence of a direct relation between the declared average income and the municipal centrality.
