Abstract

RESUMEN La microregión de Tomina forma parte del departamento boliviano de Chuquisaca. La economía regional se basa en la agricultura y la ganadería. Se trata de un modelo de desarrollo que ejerce una fuerte presión sobre el medio ambiente local. Este trabajo estudia las características básicas del desarrollo rural de Tomina y del actual periodo de crisis del modelo. SUMMARY The micro-region of Tomina is a part of the Chuquisaca Department in Bolivia. Its economy bases on agriculture and cattle elevation, with important impacts on the local environment. The relation between the undermining of the ecological conditions and the present critical situation of this particular regional development model is analysed in this article.
