Abstract

[fre] Théorie économique de l'accessibilité urbaine . . [eng] Economic theory of urban accessibility. . The economic theory of urban accessibility is a probabilistic and economic model of the behaviour of city inhabitants, who optimize their urban trips according to travel conditions and interest of possible destinations.. The first result is a quantified indicator of the level of service; this planning indicator avoids the contradictions of the previous travel cost and time indicators. The theory leads also to improvements of traffic models and gives a mathematical justification to gravity models.
