Abstract

[eng] The European Community has Become an Important Exporting Power for Farm Products . Despite its still global deficit in farm products exchanges, the European Community has become much less dependent on foreign countries in the last thirty years ; the demand of member countries is now much more directed to their partners than to countries outside the Community. . The Community has not only won its home market, but has also become a great exporting power capable of competing for market shares with traditionally exporting countries. Grain products are a case in point since the trade balance, which had a large deficit in the early sixties, now shows a large surplus. Today, France is the first exporter of farm products in the Community, and the second in the world, behind the United States.
