Auf der Suche nach der Innovation: Grenzgänger zwischen Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft

Abstract

In wissenschaftlichen wie auch politischen Debatten um die Notwendigkeiten von Innovationen wird völlig unterschätzt, dass hierfür auch grundlegende Modifikationen in den tradierten Berufsrollen notwendig sind. Obwohl auf den ersten Blick bereits heute von Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern eine Vielzahl von Aufgaben und Tätigkeiten erwartet wird und sich die Erkenntnisarbeit zunehmend auch mit wirtschaftlichen Verwertungserwartungen konfrontiert sieht, bleibt bei genauer Betrachtung eine große Spannung zwischen den Berufsrollen und Professionsverständnissen in wissenschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Kontexten. Auf der Basis von Ergebnissen mehrerer empirischer Vorhaben über wissenschaftliche Ausgründer und akademische Grenzüberschreitungen arbeitet der Beitrag zum einen diese Inkompatibilitäten heraus; zum anderen zeigt er ein neues Verständnis der unterschiedlichen und mitunter widersprüchlichen Rollenerwartungen auf. Auf der Suche nach Berufsrollen, die diese Spannungen produktiv integrieren, greifen die Probanten häufig auf berufliche Orientierungsmuster zurück, die jenseits der Orientierungen an wissenschaftlichen und ökonomischen Bezüge einen "dritten Weg" aufzeigen.
