Effective Communication And Job Trust Of Non-Academic Staff Of Selected Universities In Lagos State, Nigeria

Abstract

This study examined the relationship between effective communication and job trust of non-academic staff of selected universities in Lagos State, Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted for the study, the study population comprised of 5,434 non-academic staff of selected universities in Lagos State. Krejcie and Morgan (1970) sample size table, plus attrition rate, was used to arrive at a sample of 475. Structured questionnaire was adapted for data collection.  Content and construct validity of instrument was carried out. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients for the variables ranged from 0.70 and 0.89, response rate was 96.8%. Descriptive and inferential statistics were employed for data analysis. Findings revealed that effective communication had a positive significant relationship with job trust of non-academic staff of the selected universities in Lagos (r= 0.380, p
