Sign and word on the philosophy of Giambattista Vico
Abstract
The text approaches a major problem for the contemporary developments of philosophy, being included in the efforts made to surpass the different forms of dualism and in a context, to think out language not as a mere instrument for knowledge, but as a form of knowledge in itself. Giambattista Vico thinks that language is not only articulated, but it is, at the same time, visual, composed from paroli reali (real words) and materialized through gestures, signs, and in which the unreal-imaginary aspect and the corporeal-sensitive element occupy an important place.Download Info
