Abstract

Az állami vagyon leépítése szempontjából 1996 akár egy átlagos, szürke év is lehetett volna, amely az 1995-ös kiugró bevételeket természetesen nem tudta megismételni, de belesimult a megelőző időszak trendjeibe. Átlagos év lehetett volna, ha nem tör ki az Állami Privatizációs és Vagyonkezelő Részvénytársasággal kapcsolatos botrány, amely a privatizáció tisztaságába . és a kormányzó pártok tisztességébe . vetett hitet a közvélemény nagy részében végképp megingatta. Ennek hatására a folyamatok optikája módosult, és az 1996-os év furcsán beágyazódik a múlt és a jövő szövedékébe. A teljes és felemás eladási sikerek mellett legalább annyira jellemző volt, ami nem történt meg, illetve a múlt homályából napvilágra kerülve jelentősen befolyásolta a még privatizálható vagyon nagyságát és a várható bevételek felhasználásának módját. Az értékesítés mellett a megelőző évnél megint fontosabb lett az elosztás. S 1997 elején a döntéshozókat inkább foglalkoztatja a privatizáció lezárásának, mint folytatásának kérdése.
