Necesidades Operativas de Fondos: Diagnóstico de las terminales portuarias ecuatorianas

Abstract

El propósito de esta investigación consiste en diagnosticar la situación financiera operativa de las terminales portuarias del Ecuador durante el período 2015 - 2019, mediante el análisis de sus Necesidades Operativas de Fondos frente a la relación que muestran con el Fondo de Maniobra, rentabilidad y endeudamiento; establecidas como variables independientes. Se aplicó una metodología descriptiva correlacional para datos cuantitativos, constituidos por seis terminales portuarias pertenecientes a la Asociación de Terminales Portuarios Privados del Ecuador y a la Cámara Marítima del Ecuador. El presente estudio devela promedios de Necesidades Operativas de Fondos y Fondo de Maniobra negativos; situación que produce una financiación espontánea debido a una situación de iliquidez y preponderancia del financiamiento con proveedores, pero que demuestra una relación positiva con los niveles de rentabilidad. Sin embargo, al existir financiación espontánea suficiente, se evidencia un elevado porcentaje de endeudamiento en el largo plazo. Dichos resultados se traducen en oportunidades de fortalecimiento en las inversiones del sector portuario ecuatoriano.
