Abstract

The Province of Misiones is the main producer of tea in Argentina. At the primary level there are differences in yields per hectare above 250% between producers of low and high technological levels, not explained by agroecological issues. The objective was to investigate the limiting factors of the adoption of technology (in sowing, crop management and harvest) of small and medium producers of te through a qualitative approach (focus group technique). Among the constraints of adopting technologies are economic and knowledge constraints. Likewise, commercial asymmetry between producers and tea processing companies, absence of the State and organizational weakness are mentioned.
