Noise And Labor Fatigue Among Training Instructors Of The Intervention And Rescue Group Of The National Police Of Ecuador (El Ruido Y La Fatiga Laboral En El Personal De Instructores De Tiro Del Grupo De Intervencion Y Rescate De La Policia Nacional Del Ecuador)

The objective of this study is to determine the correlation between noise and work fatigue associated with shooting training of the Intervention and Rescue Group (G.I.R) of the National Police of Ecuador. We worked police officers who are shooting instructors in the polygon who are exposed daily to the noise produced by the detonations of ammunition during practices. The integrating sound level was used to measure noise during work hours with the three types of weapons. To identify the presence of occupational fatigue, the Yoshitake questionnaire was applied. This instrument relates to physical, mental and mixed symptoms. The results show that all shooting instructors are exposed to noise levels of 147.2 dB, and 225 detonations per working day, which is higher than the permissible levels in Ecuadorian regulations. With regard to labor fatigue we found that 16.6% of the population, have between 6 and 9 symptoms of labor fatigue according to the applied questionnaire. Finally, the correlation analysis was performed, from which we identified no correlation between these two variables
