Utilizarea teoriei jocurilor la optimizarea rezoluției financiare

Abstract

Înainte de criza financiară din 2007-2009, instituții erau asigurate (deși nu în mod oficial sau formal) că dacă erau suficient de mari vor fi salvate cu banii contribuabililor, o acțiune cunoscută ca ”bail-out”, denotând ceea ce a devenit paradigma ”prea mare pentru a eșua”. Introducerea Directivei privind Redresarea și Rezoluția Bancară (2014/59/EU) propune un cadrul juridic care țintește eliminarea posibilității de a salva prin bail-out instituțiile. Prezenta lucrare are obiectivul de a evalua prin intermediul unei analize ce utilizează teoria jocurilor în ce măsură Directiva BRR are potențialul de a-și atinge scopul și dacă există posibile îmbunătățiri pentru acest cadru care ar putea fi considerate din punct de vedre practic în situația unei revizuiri a cadrului legislativ. Termenul instituție, în sensul prezentei lucrări, se referă la instituții de credit dar poate fi citit și ca referindu-se la alte tipuri de instituții financiare, cum ar fi firmele de investiții sau societățile de asigurări
