Los servicios para el empleo postindustrial. Balance para el cambio de época

Abstract

Employment is a key social cohesion factor, as well as a scarce short and medium terrn asset which is undergoing qualitative and a quantitative change in such a way that we can now speak of a period of decline of industrial employment, as opposed to the emerging period of information technology characterized by a very different type of employment. A new type of public services for employment should correspond to this new situation, public services which should be capable of serving in a context of diversity, decentralization and responding with local strategies. Within the new framework of labour reform, services for employment will have to work with very heterogeneous applicants, with personal itinerarios towards employment which contain information, orientation, professional qualification and training activities, together with accompaniment in the search for employment or in activities directed towards attaining self-employment.
