Abstract

Statistical forecasting methods, used to estimate the wind speed at a distance x and in direction θ from a reference point were established using data from 20 locations in a country having a large area (i.e. Saudi Arabia). We tested the obtained correlation equation by comparing it with the measured wind speed in Bahrain. Brief analysis of the energy available from the wind in Bahrain was discussed.
