Frequency distribution of global insolation over Pakistan

Abstract

Many years of Meteorological Office raw data have been analysed from five widely separated stations in Pakistan to produce probability distributions of average daily global insolation. Distributions are considered on both a monthly and annual basis, and the results compared for the different stations. All stations have at least 85% probability of daily insolation greater than 10 MJ m−2 d−1, while Quetta and Karachi have 85% probability of greater than 15 MJ m−2 d−1.
