Abstract

The field theoretic renormalization group method, proposed recently as a description of the quantum crossover in the transverse Ising model, is now adopted to the study of the similar effect in the X−Y model in a transverse field. The crossover scaling form of the inverse correlation length and susceptibility has been obtained for the spatial dimension 2
