Environmentally and energy responsible universities?

Abstract

Background considerations concerning integrated environmental, health and energy policies and strategies for British universities are discussed, factors influencing a wise pertinent mission statement outlined and a commitment manifesto--primarily for distribution within a typical university--is composed. Implementing this manifesto requires reducing or eliminating adverse environmental impacts without compromising on performance, i.e. achieving environmental management best practice without incurring excessive cost.
