Üst Orta Gelirli Ülkelerde Saðlýk Harcamalarý ve Ekonomik Büyüme Ýliþkisi

Abstract

Saðlýk, bireyler için refahýn kaynaðý iken ekonomik büyümenin de önemli bir belirleyicisidir. Beþeri sermayenin oluþumunda önemli rol oynayan saðlýk, bireyin verimliliðini arttýrarak ekonomik büyümeye katký saðlamaktadýr. Bu çalýþmada saðlýk harcamalarý ve ekonomik büyüme iliþkisi 2000-2013 yýllarýný kapsayan dönemde 54 üst orta gelirli ülke için araþtýrýlmýþtýr. Bu doðrultuda toplam saðlýk harcamalarýnýn yanýnda kamu ve özel sektör saðlýk harcamalarýnýn ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisi panel veri analiz yöntemi kullanýlarak test edilmiþtir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; gerek toplam saðlýk harcamalarýndaki gerekse kamu ve özel sektör saðlýk harcamalarýndaki artýþ, üst orta gelirli ülkelerde ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu yönde etkilemektedir.
