| Abstract |
The purpose to achieve greater levels of economic and social development in the Latin American countries requires important efforts in the educational sector. Taking into account, this paper analyzes the behaviour of educational indicators in Brazil and its regions by three levels of education, and emphasizes the relation with other socioeconomic indicators. Also highlights the necessity of social policy that tends to reduce the great disparities, that in this sense, are observed between the five regions of Brazil.
