Deutsche Wirtschaft windet sich nur langsam aus der Pandemie: Grundlinien der Wirtschaftsentwicklung im Herbst 2021

Abstract

Die deutsche Wirtschaft lässt die Pandemie langsamer als erwartet hinter sich. Sie legt wohl in diesem Jahr lediglich um 2,1 Prozent zu; die Kapazitäten bleiben noch deutlich unterausgelastet. Die globalen Lieferengpässe treffen die deutsche Industrie. Dadurch ist die heimische Produktion trotz hoher Nachfrage ins Stocken geraten. Auch die Dienstleistungsbranche schwächelt mit steigenden Infektionszahlen wieder, nachdem sie im Sommer von der zwischenzeitlich beruhigten Infektionslage und dem Impffortschritt noch profitierte. Wenn sich die Lieferengpässe im kommenden Jahr auflösen, dürfte die Industrie durchstarten und die deutsche Wirtschaft ein kräftiges Plus von 4,9 Prozent verzeichnen. Die Inflation bleibt in der Grundtendenz moderat, in diesem Jahr treiben jedoch insbesondere die gestiegenen Ölpreise und die Rückkehr zur normalen Mehrwertsteuer die Rate auf 3,0 Prozent. Diese Effekte entfallen im kommenden Jahr. Dennoch wird die Inflation bei rund 2,0 Prozent etwas erhöht bleiben, da die Unternehmen die aufgrund der knappen Vorleistungen steigenden Produktionskosten teilweise weiterreichen.
