Abstract

(VA) In a comparative study based on qualitative data, the researcher has to make choices about the categories he will use for analysis ; this is the condensation step. To increase the reliability of the research design, this article proposes an approach based on csQCA, which determines the most relevant categories. This approach is presented through an empirical research on outsourcing decisions. This research analyzes the influence of two explanatory factors : the role of the opposition in the decision and a (formal) study by the outsourcing company.
