Efectos económicos de la entrada en vigor del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre Colombia y Chile

Abstract

Resumen: En el presente artículo se hace un análisis de los efectos económicos de las relaciones comerciales entre Colombia y Chile a partir de la implementación del Tratado de Libre Comercio en el 2009. Para ello, se estudió el desempeno de las importaciones y exportaciones por sectores económicos, según la Clasificación Industrial Internacional Uniforme. Asimismo, se explora la dinámica de la inversión extranjera directa efectuada entre los dos países. En este sentido, se hizo una revisión exploratoria de los datos (PIB real, tipos de cambio, flujo comercial e inversiones), entre el período 1998-2016 y se estimó la ecuación de un modelo gravitacional que representa la influencia de las relaciones comerciales entre los dos países. Se concluye que el acuerdo comercial favoreció a los dos países, incrementando el comercio bilateral, las inversiones y la producción. ****** Abstract The present research analyzes the economic effects of the commercial relations between Colombia and Chile from the implementation of its Free Trade Agreement in 2009. In the same way, the performance of imports and exports in search of economic sectors, according to the International Industrial Classification Uniform, was studied, most benefited and affected. Also, the development in the dynamics of foreign direct investment performed between the two countries. In this sense, an exploratory review of the data was carried out (real GDP, exchange rates, commercial flow and investments), comprising the period 1998-2016 and the equation of a gravitational model representing the influence of trade relations between the two countries was estimated. It is concluded that the trade agreement favored the two countries, increasing bilateral trade, investment and production.
