Industry branches: German gastronomy

Author

Listed:
  • Matthias Balz

Abstract

German gastronomy has experienced an unsatisfactory business situation in recent years. From year to year turnover has declined. The number of insolvencies has increased disproportionately. However, in 2006 German gastronomy had more positive results. Particularly the football world championship in Germany contributed to the fact that in June and July of 2006 turnover topped that of the previous-year period. Sales of beverages increased by 4.7% in the two months of the soccer championship games.
