Abstract

According to the results of Ifo Innovation Survey, product and/or process innovations were implemented by more than 58% of the industrial firms in 2004. In addition, the turnover share of product innovations in the market-introduction stage increased to nearly 11%, which means that innovation efforts have been intensified. The results also show that at the beginning of 2005 the enterprises had 57% of their sales on markets that they themselves assessed as high-growth markets. A third of the sales of German industrial firms is on markets that offer the possibility of making profits that are necessary for the future safeguarding of the enterprise on the basis of innovations.
