Eine wirtschaftspolitische Agenda für die ostdeutschen Länder

Abstract

Die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung in den ostdeutschen Ländern verläuft seit geraumer Zeit in etwa parallel zu Westdeutschland – ein Aufholen ist bei den typischerweise verwendeten Indikatoren der Wirtschaftskraft seit Langem nicht mehr festzustellen. Auch die Perspektiven für die Zukunft sind nicht unbedingt rosig. Deswegen sollte die Wirtschaftspolitik die Initiative ergreifen, mit einer gezielten wachstumsorientierten Politik die Bedingungen für eine günstigere Entwicklung auch nach dem Auslaufen des Solidarpaktes II zu schaffen. Wesentlich erscheinen neben einer an den wachstumshemmenden Rahmenbedingungen ansetzenden Förderpolitik insbesondere auch verstärkte Investitionen in Bildung und Innovation.
