Sýria v arabskej a medzinárodnej politike po rozpade Zjednotenej arabskej republiky, 1961 - 1963

Abstract

Skupina dôstojníkov sýrskej armády sa 28. septembra 1961 vzbúrila a vyhlásila vystúpenie Sýrie zo zväzku Zjednotenej arabskej republiky. Narýchlo bola vytvorená nová vláda z konzervatívnych sýrskych politikov. Džamāl cAbdannāsir spočiatku uvažoval o vojenskom zásahu, ale zmenil názor, keď sa odpor voči vzbure rýchlo vytratil. Bol to čas, keď mnohí jeho nepriatelia na Blízkom východe aj inde, slávili víťazstvo. Západné vlády boli nadšené, a podobne ani vodcovia Iraku, Jordánska a Saudskej Arábie sa nesnažili zakryť svoju radosť. Napriek tomu panarabské cítenie sa stalo mocným faktorom ďalšieho prevratu v Iraku 8. februára 1963. Krehká vláda Sýrie nevedelala dlho odolávať spojenému tlaku z Káhiry a Bagdadu. Presne mesiac po povstaní v Iraku, aj vojenský prevrat v Damasku odstránil z čela štátu všetkých aktérov, ktorí boli v Sýrii pri moci od rozpadu ZAR.
