Abstract

The article analyzes the main stages of formation of civil society in Ukraine, formation of the legislative base of state and church relations. The purpose of the study is to reveal the influence of the church and church institutions on the process of forming a civil society in Ukraine. In order to achieve the goal, the author sets himself the following main tasks: to determine the influence on the formation of a new type of relationship between the church, society and the state that is taking place in the present-day Ukraine; to determine the place and role of the religious factor in general in formation of the civil society in Ukraine.
