Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyse the impact of strategic planning in the development of public transportation. Therefore, we conduct a short literature review concerning the relation between strategic management, in general, and the development of public transportation, and, more specifically, different aspects of strategic planning in relation to the development of public transportation. We include both theoretical views on the subject and empirical studies in different regions and states which show the effect of strategic planning on the changes related to public transportation.
