Opportunities to Establish Farm Cooperatives in the Republic of Bulgaria

Abstract

The author proves his idea that western-type farm cooperatives should be established for the successful development of the Bulgarian agriculture. The opportunities are pointed out for launching of credit, supply, purchase, processing and distribution farm cooperatives towards a competitive agriculture sector. It is necessary to provide for rural development, efficient use of the subsidies from domestic government and European funds, keeping a high level of farmers’ income and the production of healthy foods for the population.
