Costo de la productividad perdida por muertes de SIDA en la Argentina

Abstract

El presente trabajo explora el análisis del valor estadístico de la vida desde el enfoque del capital humano considerando el valor de la productividad perdida por el hecho de que una persona muera por SIDA en la Argentina. Los resultados obtenidos muestran el impacto significativo que tuvieron las 1.402 muertes por SIDA, las cuales representan el 0,46% de las muertes totales registradas durante el 2008. Las defunciones registradas implican una pérdida económica anual de 332.945.741 pesos corrientes de 2007, las cuales equivalen al 0,4% del PIB y al 0,71% del gasto público en salud.
