Innovationen in der deutschen Wirtschaft: Indikatorenbericht zur Innovationserhebung 2020

Abstract

Innovationstandort Deutschland: Bleibt die deutsche Wirtschaft auf Innovationskurs? Die Innovationsausgaben sind im Jahr 2019 weiter angestiegen. Sie erreichten mit 176,9 Mrd. Euro ein Rekordhoch. Allerdings blieb der Zuwachs leicht hinter den Erwartungen aus dem Vorjahr zurück. Insbesondere im Dienstleistungssektor wurden die Ausgaben für Innovationen erneut kräftig erhöht. Insgesamt wurde der Anstieg der Innovationsausgaben im Wesentlichen von den Großunternehmen getragen. Die Innovationsbeteiligung verzeichnet ebenfalls einen Zuwachs: Der Anteil an Unternehmen mit kontinuierlicher Forschung und Entwicklung (FuE) erreichte mit 10,9 Prozent einen Höchststand. Im Gegensatz dazu sind Investitionen im Zusammenhang mit Innovationsvorhaben eingebrochen. Deutsche Unternehmen verzeichnen im Jahr 2019 einen Rückgang bei ihrem Umsatz mit Produktinnovationen. Insgesamt erzielten sie einen Umsatz von 744 Mrd. Euro - mehr als 6 Prozent weniger als im Vorjahr. Im Zeitraum 2017 bis 2019 haben 46,0 Prozent der Unternehmen in Deutschland merkliche Änderungen an ihrem Geschäftsmodell vorgenommen. Die häufigste Geschäftsmodellinnovation betraf die Einbeziehung neuer Lieferanten oder Kooperationspartner. Innovationen im Kernbereich des Geschäftsmodells fanden eher selten statt. Insgesamt ist die Digitalisierung von Geschäftsmodellen weit vorangeschritten.
