Erfolgskarrieren beginnen früh: Wer mehr Frauen an der Spitze will, sollte Mädchen fördern

Abstract

Dass Frauen geringere Chancen auf eine gesellschaftliche Führungsposition haben, ist bekannt. Warum schaffen es einige wenige dennoch, an die Spitze aufzusteigen? Die Antwort ist: Sie hatten Förderer. Wie ihre männlichen Kollegen in vergleichbaren Positionen auch. Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt unsere aus Mitteln des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung und des Europäischen Sozialfonds geförderte Studie Exzellenz und Geschlecht in Führungspositionen der Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft, in der die Werdegänge beruflich außerordentlich erfolgreicher Frauen und Männer untersucht wurden. Die Studie gibt Auskunft darüber, was sie angetrieben und befähigt hat, sich auf den Wettbewerb um die raren Spitzenpositionen einzulassen und sich durchzusetzen.
