Wandel der Kinderbetreuung: Ein Vergleich von 18 westeuropäischen Ländern, 1990-2020

Abstract

Die formale Kinderbetreuung wurde in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten vielerorts ausgebaut, um die Arbeitsmarktpartizipation von Frauen zu fördern und Kinderarmut zu bekämpfen. Ausgehend von einer pragmatischen Einteilung in drei unterschiedliche Regimes der Kinderbetreuung untersucht der Beitrag den Wandel der formalen Kinderbetreuung in 18 westeuropäischen Ländern seit 1990. Es zeigt sich, dass die drei Gruppen in Richtung einer umfassenden formalen Kinderbetreuung skandinavischer Prägung konvergieren.
