Mehrfachbeschäftigungen in Deutschland: Struktur, Arbeitsbedingungen und Motive

Abstract

Seit 2003 haben sich die Zahl und der Anteil der Erwerbstätigen in Deutschland, die neben ihrer Haupttätigkeit noch mindestens einer weiteren Beschäftigung nachgehen, mehr als verdoppelt. Im europäischen Vergleich ist dieser Anstieg einzigartig. Haupt- und Nebentätigkeiten unterscheiden sich deutlich, z.B. hinsichtlich Branchen, Berufen, Qualifikationsanforderungen, Arbeitszeiten und Weiterbildungsmöglichkeiten. Häufige Motive für die Ausübung mehrerer Jobs sind finanzielle Gründe und Aspekte der sozialen Absicherung.
