Ungleichheit, Umverteilung und Preise im regionalen Vergleich

Abstract

Das verfügbare Einkommen der privaten Haushalte wird häufig zur Messung von Wohlstand und Ungleichheit (Jenkins/van Kerm 2009) verwendet. Insbesondere tief regionalisierte Angaben stoßen regelmäßig auf ein reges Interesse, da sie aufschlussreiche Einblicke in die (regionale) Einkommensverteilung erlauben. Zugleich provozieren sie aber auch eine ganze Reihe von Nachfragen: Was ist das verfügbare Pro-Kopf-Einkommen und warum ist es so hoch? Wie groß ist die regionale Ungleichheit und welche Rolle spielt die staatliche Umverteilung? Gleichen Preisunterschiede, wie z. B. unterschiedlich hohe Mieten, die realen Einkommen an? Im vorliegenden Papier werden diese Fragen auf der Grundlage von Daten der volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnung der Länder sowie neu verfügbarer Daten zu regionalen Preisniveaus (Blien/van Phan thi Hong/van Auer/Weinand 2019, S.2) beantwortet.
