Abstract

Sorgfältig betriebenes, mit der Unternehmensstrategie harmonierendes Business Process Management (BPM, Geschäftsprozessmanagement) ist zu einem der kritischen Erfolgsfaktoren in vielen Unternehmen geworden. Der vorliegende Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die in einem Regelkreis angeordneten Teilaufgaben (Phasen) des BPM und bettet diese in eine Umgebung mit Rahmenbedingungen wie Unternehmensstrategie, Governance und IT-Landschaft ein. Nach der Erläuterung der Umgebungsbedingungen werden die Phasen mit ihrem Wesen, ausgewählten in ihnen verwendbaren Methoden und Modellen und möglicher IT-Unterstützung durch BPMLösungen beschrieben. Eine tabellarische Übersicht im letzten Abschnitt fasst die wesentlichen Inhalte zu den Phasen auf einen Blick zusammen.
