Die Global Posture Review der Biden-Administration: Washington will die US-Militärpräsenz im Indopazifik ausbauen, ohne Europa zu vernachlässigen

Abstract

Ende November hat das US-amerikanische Verteidigungsministerium die Ergebnisse seiner Global Posture Review (GPR) vorgestellt. Die Posture gibt Aufschluss über die geplante Entwicklung der weltweiten Militärpräsenz der USA und hat daher auch eine hohe Relevanz für deren Bündnispartner. Die Biden-Administration bekräftigt mit dieser GPR ihr Bekenntnis zur Stärkung der Nato. Zugleich lassen die bislang veröffentlichten Eckpunkte wichtige Fragen offen - insbesondere dazu, wie die Prioritäten zwischen Europa und Asien längerfristig gesetzt werden und ob neue landgestützte Waffensysteme in europäischen Nato-Staaten stationiert werden sollen.
