Japan nach den Wahlen: Kein Ende des Reformstaus

Abstract

Bei der Unterhauswahl in Japan am 16. Dezember 2012 hat die Liberaldemokratische Partei (LDP) unter Shinzo Abe haushoch gesiegt. Die Regierung der Demokratischen Partei Japans (DPJ) mit Ministerpräsident Yoshihiko Noda steht damit vor dem Aus. Nun gelangt wieder jene Partei an die Macht, die das Land zwischen 1955 und 2009 fast ununterbrochen regierte. Dabei spiegelt das Wahlergebnis vor allem die Unzufriedenheit der Bevölkerung über die letzten drei Regierungsjahre. Die DPJ hat es versäumt, durch Reformen den erhofften politischen Richtungswechsel herbeizuführen. Doch auch von der neuen LDP-Regierung ist kaum zu erwarten, dass sie den Reformstau schon bald angehen wird. Da bereits im kommenden Sommer das Oberhaus neu gewählt wird, dürfte die LDP eher kurzfristige Erfolge anstreben, als sich Japans grundlegenden Problemen zu widmen
