Abstract

Das Nato-Gipfeltreffen in Newport war vor allem geprägt von der Reaktion des Bündnisses auf die Annexion der Krim und auf die Destabilisierung der Ostukraine durch Russland. Abgesehen von den Einzelbeschlüssen zur Einrichtung einer Krisen-Eingreiftruppe sowie zum Aktionsplan für Osteuropa haben die Staats- und Regierungschefinnen und -chefs jedoch den langfristigen Perspektiven für das Verhältnis der Allianz zu Russland wenig Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet.
