Nordeuropa nach dem Brexit-Votum: Die fünf nordischen Länder stellen ihre Beziehungen zur EU auf den Prüfstand

Abstract

In Nordeuropa schlägt das britische EU-Referendum hohe Wellen. Das Votum könnte bewirken, dass europakritische Parteien in den Ländern der Region an Einfluss gewinnen. Doch auf absehbare Zeit ist nicht zu erwarten, dass die EU-Staaten Dänemark, Finnland und Schweden selbst einen Austritt anstreben oder die Nichtmitglieder Norwegen und Island ihre Verflechtung mit der EU substantiell reduzieren. Mit Großbritannien droht für die nordischen Länder indes einer der wichtigsten Verbündeten in der EU wegzufallen. Sie dürften dadurch gezwungen sein, ihre Positionierung innerhalb bzw. gegenüber der Union zu überdenken. Schon jetzt zeigen sich erste Anzeichen für eine Neujustierung - mit teils gemeinsamen, teils unterschiedlichen Prioritäten. Sollten die fünf Länder imstande sein, die Gemeinsamkeiten auszunutzen, könnte die nordische Zusammenarbeit hinsichtlich einer »EU der 27« an Bedeutung gewinnen. (SWP-Aktuell)
