Abstract

Am 19. September 2016 findet in New York eine hochrangige Plenartagung der Generalversammlung der Vereinten Nationen (VN) statt. Zum ersten Mal wird die Staatengemeinschaft die Themen Flucht und Migration in einem gemeinsamen Rahmen diskutieren. Der Erfolg des Gipfels wird daran bemessen werden, ob es gelingt, das Prinzip der Verantwortungsteilung in Flüchtlingskrisen verbindlich zu machen und die Grundlage für eine rechtebasierte Steuerung von Migration zu legen. Deutschland ist in jüngster Zeit in der Flüchtlings- und Migrationspolitik international sichtbarer geworden, kann von dem Gipfel profitieren und Impulse für eine bessere Bewältigung der politischen Herausforderungen geben.
