Serbien: Leere Staatskasse und ungewisse Absichten der neuen Regierung

Abstract

Am 27. Juli 2012 bestätigte das serbische Parlament die neue Regierung des Landes. Sie wird hauptsächlich von politischen Kräften getragen, die zu den Stützen des im Jahre 2000 gestürzten autokratischen Regimes von Slobodan Miloševic gehörten. Ihrer größten Herausforderung, der dramatischen Zuspitzung der Wirtschaftslage, begegnen die neuen und zugleich altbekannten Amtsträger vorerst nur mit ausgeprägtem Populismus. Serbien ist auf neue Kredite aus dem Ausland angewiesen. Dessen ist sich die Regierung zweifellos bewusst. Ein gewichtiger Grund für Belgrad, gegenüber westlichen Akteuren glaubhaft zu machen, dass es an dem EU-Beitritt Serbiens als vorrangigem Ziel festhält. Die neue Regierung lässt zudem keinen Zweifel daran aufkommen, dass sie Washington und Berlin nach wie vor als Schlüsselpartner bei der Suche nach einer Regelung für das Kosovo ansieht
