Kroatien am Scheideweg? Der Fall Bobetko als Prüfstein der Außen- und Innenpolitik

Abstract

Daß der Haager Internationale Gerichtshof für das ehemalige Jugoslawien (ICTY) gegen den früheren Chef des Generalstabs der kroatischen Armee Bobetko Anklage erhoben und um seine Auslieferung ersucht hat, hat die sozialdemokratisch geführte Koalitionsregierung in Zagreb destabilisiert und außenpolitisch in Bedrängnis gebracht. Wenn Zagreb Bobetko ausliefert, drohen vorgezogene Neuwahlen. Weigert sich die Regierung Račan hingegen, dann sind Verzögerungen bei der so sehr ersehnten Integration Kroatiens in die euro-atlantischen Strukturen zu erwarten. Der jüngste Konflikt zwischen Kroatien und dem ICTY könnte zum entscheidenden Wendepunkt in der kroatischen Innen- und Außenpolitik werden. (SWP-aktuell / SWP)
