Das Kaukasus-Emirat und der internationale Jihadismus

Abstract

Unter den muslimischen Regionen Russlands und des gesamten postsowjetischen Raums bildet der Nordkaukasus ein Epizentrum islamistischen Aufruhrs. Bewaffneter Widerstand unter der Parole des Jihad wird hier von einem sogenannten Kaukasus-Emirat koordiniert, das 2007 von dem tschetschenischen Untergrundführer Doku Umarow ausgerufen wurde. In Regionalanalysen ist umstritten, inwieweit der über Tschetschenien hinausgetretene bewaffnete Untergrundkampf vom globalen Islamis-mus beeinflusst oder von regionalen Faktoren geprägt und von unterschiedlichen Motiven bestimmt wird. Auch wenn sich seine Kampfansage in erster Linie gegen Russland richtet, steht das Kaukasus-Emirat in Kontakt zur globalen Jihad-Szene
