Abstract

Die Ukraine wird nach den politischen Umwälzungen im Februar und der russischen Annexion der Krim im März dieses Jahres ein politisch, wirtschaftlich und militärisch geschwächter Staat sein. Als zusätzliche Erschwernisse wirken der nur schwach ausgeprägte Zusammenhalt der ukrainischen Gesellschaft und die regionalen Fliehkräfte. Das Land wird ausländischer Hilfe bedürfen, nicht zuletzt bei der Gewährleistung der territorialen Integrität und politischen Souveränität. Hierbei kommt der Nato eine wichtige Rolle zu. Offen ist zur Zeit, welche Überlegungen die Allianz bei ihren Bemühungen anleiten sollen, ihre Beziehungen zur Ukraine neu auszurichten. (SWP-Aktuell)
