Chronik einer vorhersehbaren Krise: Gewaltausbruch und chavistische Hegemonie in Venezuela

Abstract

Ohne Vorbedingungen traten Regierung und Opposition Venezuelas Anfang April in einen Dialogprozess ein und legten weder Ziele noch einen Zeitplan fest. Drei Außenminister von Unasur-Staaten begleiten den Prozess, um zur Überwindung der Krise beizutragen. Seit Anfang Februar protestieren Studierende und oppositionelle Gruppen gegen die prekäre öffentliche Sicherheit und ökonomische Missstände und fordern den Rücktritt von Präsident Nicolás Maduro. Repressive Reaktionen der Regierung und die Errichtung von Straßenbarrikaden durch die Protestierenden führten zur Eskalation. Die politische Krise in Venezuela ist zwar nicht die erste seit dem Aufkommen des »Chavismo«. Sie findet aber in einer besonders verheerenden ökonomischen Situation statt. (SWP-Aktuell)
