Nigeria: Boko Haram und die Regionalisierung des Terrorismus

Abstract

Die von der Terrormiliz Boko Haram ausgelöste Welle der Gewalt im Nordosten Nigerias und die Regionalisierung des Terrorismus haben die Nachbarländer Tschad, Kamerun und Niger auf den Plan gerufen. Seit März 2015 führen sie Militäroperationen in den Grenzgebieten durch, um die Terroristen zurückzudrängen, teilweise auch auf nigerianischem Territorium. Nigeria und seine Nachbarn haben sich offiziell auf eine multilaterale Militäroperation geeinigt, die Boko Haram neutralisieren soll. Doch aus innenpolitischen Gründen blockiert Nigeria bis heute eine regionale Kooperation. Internationale Unterstützung für die geplante Militäroperation wird vergebens sein, solange Abuja seinen Kurs nicht ändert. (SWP-Aktuell)
